Riverside Gallery presents Youn-Ju Kim’s new exhibition “The Infinite Path” where she emphasizes the sweat of thought that flows into the heart and the tears of the heart that flows into the thoughts. She says that the beginning and end disappear and that finally, life becomes infinite. The belief of how life revolves is shown through the abstraction of the artworks and the unique usage of colors.

The art exhibition, “The Infinte Path”, will be held at the Riverside Gallery in Hackensack, NJ from October 17th-24th, 2024. It is the 20th solo exhibition of Youn-ju Kim, a mid- career artist, who has been working on the theme of connecting our lives and souls to the vast indefinity of the universe.

Youn-ju Kim has mainly worked on large canvases on the subject of communication and relationship between life as well as the universe. The artist, whose works have focused on energy and life, was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2022. During the process of surgery and recovery, she had the epiphany to see the importance of life and felt profound appreciation. Through the creative process, she could gain the comfort and energy needed in her physical and psychological state and captured them in her works.

Although there is nothing comparable to outer space, on the huge canvas cloth spread on the floor, the numerous dots of various colors, sprinkled and painted, coalesce and recreate thousands of shapes to form the universe. Over time, the overlapping of layers of space and time leads to infinity. The viewers may find that the work process is projected and identified as one in which trillions of cells come together to comfort each other. From a body in harmony that becomes healthy energy, this transcends the artist mind and body, which is the process of healing. The artist says "One hope from my work, many people will discover the infinite spiritual forces in themselves.”
